PEACE AND DRINK
The wine, symbol of conviviality, brings people together
The 'Peace and Drink' project takes up the famous Franciscan greeting in an ironic and modern key. Wine, a symbol of conviviality, unites people, even the most distant, and is therefore also a bearer of peace and joy. The t-shirts with illustrations by Bruna Pallante, have as their subjects 4 historical figures linked to the Montefalco area: Frederick II, who, driven by his passion for falconry, gave his name to the town of Montefalco; St. Francis, founder of the Franciscan order, who performed some of his famous miracles in the area around Montefalco; Benozzo Gozzoli, who frescoed the apse of the Church of St. Francis in Montefalco, now a museum, with its marvellous cycle of frescoes dedicated to the life of Francis; and St. Clare of Montefalco, one of the great mystics of the Middle Ages, to whom the cycle of frescoes in the Chapel of the Cross is dedicated.
