Sagrantino in the Supercup
YESTERDAY AT THE SAN SIRO FOR THE INTER-JUVENTUS FINAL A TOAST WAS MADE WITH THE 2018 PREVIEW OF ARNALDO CAPRAI'S COLLEPIANO SAGRANTINO
A Sagrantino final for the Supercoppa Frecciarossa match, the first trophy of the season, which took place yesterday at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium in Milan between Italian champion Inter and national cup winners Juventus, and which saw the team led by Simone Inzaghi come out on top.
The dinner organised in the Executive Lounge of the 'Giuseppe Meazza' stadium on the occasion of the Supercoppa Frecciarossa and signed by Umbrian starchef Gianfranco Vissani, saw the premiere of the new 2018 vintage of Sagrantino di Montefalco Collepiano from the Arnaldo Caprai winery, with which the guests of the League (from national team coach Roberto Mancini to Paolo Bonolis, to name but a few) toasted: a historical label of the winery (the first vintage of production, in fact, dates back to 1979). The 2018 vintage was rainy in spring and dry during the summer months, conditions that allowed the grapes to ripen perfectly: Added to this are 22 months in French oak barrels and at least 6 months in the bottle, which have given Collepiano the ability to enrich itself with aromas of blackberry jam, pepper, clove and vanilla, a balsamic note and a touch of powder, while on the palate it is powerful, silky, satisfying, the perfect accompaniment to game dishes, stews and roasted meats. A wine as extraordinary as its debut in the Supercup.
