Dad is celebrated with Sagrantino di Montefalco

He loves red wines of a certain power and probably has a prickly, rough character, which fades with age. He is a solid, down-to-earth person who gets straight to the point and detests whimsy. It is this the identikit of the "Papa Sagrantino', Stubborn and resolute, he often withdraws into his thoughts, but when he lets himself go he amazes with his affection and generosity.

The perfect wine for your party? The "25 Years' by Arnaldo Caprai, ça va sans dire, an icon in the world of Sagrantino di Montefalco. The winery, led by Marco Caprai, is responsible for the recovery and rebirth of this indigenous Umbrian grape, Sagrantino, to which the Arnaldo Caprai winery has indissolubly linked its name, in the name of excellence with patient and stubborn work.

The '25 anni' was first vinified in 1993 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the winery's foundation and today is just released the 2018 vintageThis is a pure Sagrantino, which matures in barriques for 2 years and then in bottles for about 8 months before release.

Arnaldo Caprai's Montefalco Sagrantino '25 anni' has a dark, impenetrable ruby red colour. As dense to the eye as it is to the nose, it has a layered complexity ranging from notes of jammy black fruit, rose and cocoa, pepper, cloves, cinnamon, as well as a balsamic note of pine resin. On the palate, the great elegance of this wine is realised in the softness of the tannin, which does not undermine the persuasive character of the sip but, on the contrary, enhances it.
