Montefalco (PG)

A Wine Club of Sagrantino and Umbrian wines in general: the Arnaldo Caprai winery has just inaugurated the Terrazza Monte della Torre, an exclusive space within the estate from which one can enjoy a unique view of Montefalco and the Sagrantino vineyards, illuminated until sunset, where it is now possible to enjoy an exclusive tasting experience, divided into three proposalswhich lead to three different itineraries, all united by the presence of a wine educator at the participants' disposal, a visit to the winery included in the tasting package, and the gastronomic pairing of a refined selection of typical local products. By choosing MONTEFALCO VIBES, you will be able to taste 3 Arnaldo Caprai wines, namely Grecante Colli Martani Grechetto DOC, Montefalco Rosso DOC and Montefalco Rosso Riserva DOC (50 euros per pax, duration 2-3 hours); with SAGRANTINO EXPERIENCE, you can start with a wine of your choice from Grecante Colli Martani Grechetto DOC, Montefalco Rosso DOC and Montefalco Rosso Riserva DOC, followed by a tasting of three of the winery's iconic Sagrantino wines, namely Collepiano, Valdimahgio and the iconic 25 Anni (100 euros per person, duration 2-3 hours); finally, SIGNATURE COLLECTION is definitely the top experience on offer, a journey that starts from the super white Cuvée Secrète Umbria Bianco IGT and then into the red soul of Arnaldo Caprai, ranging from Montefalco Rosso Riserva DOC to Sagrantino 25 Anni, passing through Malcompare and Belcompare, respectively Pinot Nero and Merlot Umbria IGT (165 euros per person).

A proposal that sees the light of day with the restart, the easing of anti-covid restrictions and the summer, but which will continue through the autumn and winter months to become a point of reference for all wine lovers.

Alongside this novelty, Arnaldo Caprai's picnic proposal is also confirmed for 2021one of the first in Italy to propose the possibility of combining a simple visit to the winery with a picnic on its estate, among the rows of Sagrantino, Sangiovese or Grechetto, or on the splendid Belvedere Terrace, set among the vineyards and in a panoramic position, in the shade of a centuries-old oak tree.

The Picnic in the vineyard reservations can be made no later than the day before, because everything is prepared express the morning of the visit: omelettes, selected cold meats and cheeses, handmade pasta, soups, salads, desserts, freshly baked bread to be enjoyed with the extra virgin olive oil produced by the farm and, of course, wine. Everyone will receive blankets, pillows, a basket and glasses, filled with everything they need, and will then be able to go in search of their favourite corner where they can spend not only lunch but also the entire afternoon, in total relaxation, until sunset, amidst meadows, lakes, vineyards and the magnificent landscape of Montefalco in the background.

For those who wish, there is also the possibility of having a personal chef available for their picnic: the Gourmet picnicThe winery's resident chef, Salvatore Denaro, will prepare for guests - comfortably seated at their table - a series of typical dishes and a meat grill on the beautiful Belvedere Terrace.

ARNALDO CAPRAI FARM AT A GLANCE
Few other wineries in Italy and around the world are immediately identified just by mentioning the name of the denomination to which they belong, like Arnaldo Caprai, itself a symbol of Sagrantino di Montefalco. A unique reality, synonymous with Italian excellence, capable of creating wines that are out of the ordinary in terms of depth, elegance and longevity: not only reds, but also whites. The credit for this adventure that began in the late 1970s goes to Marco Caprai, Arnaldo's son. It was he, in fact, more than anyone else who believed in the richness of Sagrantino, reinterpreting it in a modern key, through the most innovative production and business management methods, which have enabled him to win the favour of the public and critics all over the world. Not to be outdone by the whites: Arnaldo Caprai's Grecante, 100% Grechetto, managed to conquer Wine Spectator's Top100.
A great company, Arnaldo Caprai, that guards a green soul, considering issues concerning sustainability, protection and safeguarding the environment as fundamental. The point of observation always remains the same: trying to behave in harmony with natural evolution cycles, preserving and enhancing the territory in which it operates. This is why the company decided to create an Environmental Management System that complies with international regulations, developing a voluntary territorial protocol of environmental, economic and social sustainability of the production process.
It is in this unparalleled context that wines of unforgettable substance are born, complex and elegant, capable of narrating the best of an entire region, Umbria.
